More than 50 jobs will be created at a new hospital set to open in the West Midlands after a deal arranged by commercial property agency Bromwich Hardy.

Skyline Hospitals will open its new facilities after conversion work on 27,179 sq ft of space at Ashford House, a former office block on the Walsgrave Triangle Business Park in Coventry.

The private hospital will need to hire around 55 full-time staff in addition to numerous part time staff to provide services six days a week.

It will provide including outpatient services, minor surgery as day cases and selected major surgery with overnight stays for self-paying and insured patients, also delivering services for the NHS to help with long waiting lists.

Mark Booth, a senior surveyor at Bromwich Hardy, said: “We have really enjoyed working with Skyline Hospitals on their plans for a new hospital at this former headquarters office building in Coventry.

“We think it’s a great use of what were empty premises that will now help provide the local community with additional healthcare services.”

Mr Bal Manoj, of Skyline Hospitals, explained that many senior consultants from the region have already expressed an interest in joining the medical team.

He said they will provide a range of specialist services including ophthalmic surgery, orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine, urology, gynaecology, cardiology, dermatology, pain management and cosmetic surgery.

Mental health assessments and treatments for ADHD and autistic spectrum disorders will be available privately at affordable rates, and a private GP service and quick diagnostics for some cancer patients will also be provided.

Mr Manoj said: “We’re really pleased with Ashford House as the site for our hospital and are grateful to Bromwich Hardy for all their hard work in helping to make this happen.

“We are now busy with our conversion plans and hope to open our Skyline Hospital later this year.

“Once up and running, Skyline Hospitals will work closely with major insurers, the ICB and local NHS Trusts to deliver various services to the community.”

Bromwich Hardy arranged the deal on behalf of landlord Cloverglade Ltd, on a 10-year lease.

Piers Guest, managing director of Cloverglade Ltd, said: “I am delighted at the tremendous effort Bromwich Hardy put in to finalise this deal.

“I firmly believe that Skyline Hospitals will provide the local community with much-needed options, enhancing the range of healthcare services currently available.”

Cloverglade Ltd received legal advice from Field Fisher, while Parry Carver Solicitors advised Skyline Hospitals.
