Kineton Cricket Club has been bowled over by commercial property agency Bromwich Hardy, which has agreed to continue its sponsorship for a second season.

Kineton now fields three senior teams in the Cotswolds Hills League, as well as running a range of junior sides aged from five to the late teens, involving both boys and girls.

The backing from Bromwich Hardy comes as Kineton go top of the table this week after a stunning performance against former league leaders Bretforton.

There were two 100s scored in the match, but the stand-out performance of the day came from 18-year-old Joe Marler whose took four wickets in seven overs swung the game in Kineton’s favour.

Dawn Cooper, a partner at Bromwich Hardy, explained that the firm’s support was part of its wider charity programme to support youth in the area.

Ms Cooper said: “We’re delighted to be continuing with our sponsorship for Kineton Cricket Club.

“Both my sons play for Kineton, with my eldest Sam, who has started his surveying career here at Bromwich Hardy, playing as captain this year.

“My family links to the club mean that I know just how much Kineton does for youth in the area, and that’s why we’re backing the club again this season.”

As part of a rolling five-year plan, Kineton Cricket Club is planning to provide sightscreens for its Radway ground, professional coaching for all teams, a new electronic scoreboard, and a new wooden storage shed.

Barbara Loughton, treasurer at Kineton Cricket Club, said: “We’re so grateful to Bromwich Hardy for their continued sponsorship.

“We’ve got quite a long list of plans to continue developing the club, but we are confident that with the support we are fortunate enough to receive from our sponsors, our ambitious plans are achievable.”
