OPENING UP EXPANSION OPPORTUNITIES
A new central hub for a leading employment law firm in Coventry and Warwickshire is already opening up expansion opportunities.
De Marco Solicitors has moved into its own premises at Electric Wharf, a development of eco-homes and offices in Sandy Lane, Coventry, to grow its team of employment and business law specialists and its areas of expertise.
The firm has taken on an additional solicitor, Stuart Kelly, who brings a new dimension as a specialist in IT, intellectual property, media and commercial law, and with a particular interest in film, TV and radio contracts.
Sandra Garlick, Principal of De Marco Solicitors, said the move overseen by commercial property agents Bromwich Hardy marked a significant stage in the development of the company which she established in 2007.
Sandra said: “We had been looking for our own premises for some time and this was the right move as it provides us with the opportunity for further growth.
“We have already been able to branch into a new area of law with the appointment of Stuart and will be taking on another solicitor, Katy Morgan Smith, in May to enhance our employment team.
“We have now grown to eight solicitors, making us one of the largest employment teams in Coventry and Warwickshire, and they will have the opportunity to work alongside our support staff from this new base and remotely for clients within the area and beyond.”
The move to Electric Wharf is the third office deal within the development in the last six months by Bromwich Hardy, which recently came out on top of all commercial property advisors in Coventry and Warwickshire and second overall in the Midlands for 2013, according to Estates Gazette and Co Star.
James Brookes, from Bromwich Hardy, said: “Commercial property rental and sale is definitely on the up in the Midlands and the Coventry market is certainly starting to move.
“Electric Wharf continues to hold very good values for both tenants and investors and we have completed a trio of office deals there in the past six months which leaves only one unit vacant along with a couple of investment opportunities.”
De Marco’s premises within Generator Hall, one of the mixed-use buildings in the canalside development, are at least double the size of the firm’s previous base with an open-plan lower ground floor providing office space and a conference and training facility at ground level.
Sandra added: “Electric Wharf is a prestigious development and we wanted our central hub to be within the heart of Coventry as there is a lot of development in the city centre with schemes such as Friargate.
“This move marks an exciting stage in our firm’s own development and we are looking forward to building our team and our services from here.”
